“When I invented the Web, I didn’t have to ask anyone’s permission. Now, hundreds of millions of people are using it freely. I am worried that that is going end” - Sir Tim Berners Lee.
Freedom on the internet is the best thing since the creation of the independent world. When we log onto the Internet, we take a lot for granted. We assume we’ll be able to access any Web site we want, whenever we want, at the fastest speed, whether it’s a corporate site or someone’s personal site. We assume that we can use any service we like — watching online video clips, listening to podcasts, sending instant messages, downloading content or blog — anytime we choose. That is internet freedom.

Executives from the Mozilla Corporation have been outlining some of the changes being made in the forthcoming Firefox 3 (Minefield) browser.
The browser has been in development for two years, and will have a completely redesigned graphics engine capable of handling much more intricate images, improving image scaling and letting users zoom in and out on the page.
A radical shake-up of the book-marking system for web pages is also planned (SQl Lite). “When you think about it bookmarks have not changed for 10 years,” Mike Schroepfer, vice president of engineering at Mozilla, told vnunet.com. “There are better ways to organise the plethora of web pages people view today. ” Schroepfer explained that Mozilla is working on an embedded database of web history and bookmarks called SQL Lite.(So much for old school bookmarking)

A first look makes us think it is some kind of a teleportation device, stripped right out of a Hollywood movie. TWISTER is being hailed as the “world’s first full-color 360-degree 3D display that does not require viewers to wear special glasses”. It is an acronym for Telexistence Wide-angle Immersive STEReoscope. Within the cylindrical, rotating device, there exists some 50,000 LEDs that give off the illusion of a three-dimensional object without requiring any other oculus gear.

As the display rotates around the observer’s head at a speed of 1.6 revolutions per second, these specially arranged LED columns show a slightly different image to each of the observer’s eyes, thus creating the illusion of a 3D image. TWISTER tricks the eye by exploiting what is known as “binocular parallax” — the apparent difference in position of an object as seen separately by the left eye and the right eye.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary, (Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition), is the latest release of the Tomb Raider series. It is a remake of the original Tomb Raider game from 1996, created with an advanced version of the engine used for Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend. It includes all the original ‘worlds’ or levels from Tomb Raider.
LEGEND gave TR fans awesome gameplay, great locations and graphics great enough to make them brag of their graphic accelerators. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who play young wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, say they have experimented just like all other teenagers.
Emma, 17, said: “You are careful not to do it in the public eye. You have your first cigarette or first glass of alcohol in a safe environment with your close friends - or you could be foolish and choose to do it in a London nightclub.”
18-year-old Rupert added: “Because we are quite busy we do miss out, but we still have those kinds of experiences like getting drunk for the first time.”
Despite enjoying going out, Daniel, 17, says he always puts his work first.
He revealed: “What I enjoy most is the acting and the work, but it doesn’t stop us from having a party once in a while. Parties are fine and fun.”

Oh brother. The partying heiress says that hanging around with her new best friend, Britney Spears, and Spears’ two tykes has made her want to reproduce.
“It’s been my dream to have four babies by 30,” the 25-year-old heiress announced, reports Life & Style Weekly. And Hilton thinks she’s highly qualified for motherhood, explaining: “I look after animals, so I’d have a lot to give my kids.” This would mean she’s wanting to have four kids in the next five years.
In fact, looking after kiddies has become so appealing to Hilton that she recently cut short a night out with Spears, announcing to friends, “We’re going home to the babies. We miss them.”
