      Intel C2D E5400 @2.7GHz
      Samsung Sata2 320GB HDD 16mb cache
      2×1 GB KingMax value ram running @ 800Mhz

      The game run in full/high detail win 1360*768 resolution both single and multiplayer (in multiplayer mode the fps was 70-120, the average is between 90-100).

      In the following days I plan to test the game unde Vista Ultimate SP1 with the same specs.

      I will post about it.

      (Sorry for my bad english… :S ).

    26. anton says:

      @anton:
      You’re an idiot, or you’re just confused.
      Firstly, Pentium 4 is an Intel product, and Athlon 64 is an AMD Product, unless you’re running some mystical system that runs two CPU’s of different manufacturers (yes i’m aware that running two CPU’s of the same manufacturer can be run on special Motherboards, generally designed for running servers to get the power of a single core CPU, and the adaptability of two cores). If you’re serious, but confused, then you either have a 3.5GHz Pentium 4, or a 3.5GHz Athlon 64 CPU, but for an Athlon 64 to run at 3.5GHz it will either have to have been Over Clocked in a huge way, therefore you’re more likely to have a Pentium 4 3.5GHz, but it would be better if you had a Athlon 64X2 (Dual Core) because they’re generally better for running games, as they can run background processes such as explorer.exe or svchost.exe, whilst running the game on another core, making the game run smoother. However, AMD Motherboards cannot run DDR3 RAM, so you’re probably just being an idiot, trying to wind me up, but it isn’t working as i enjoy reading about this type of thing as it means i learn more.
      @juan:
      You’re computer should be fine, its usually better to have a Dual Core CPU, but your Pentium 4 has a high enough clock speed to make up for its lack of multi-tasking abilities, your graphics card is pretty powerful, and is quite capable of running the game, and you have PLENTY of HDD space. the only possible problem is RAM really, but that would only be a problem if you had 2Gb, but three – no matter what type – should be fine.

    33. eni says:

      @osca: I’m afraid that it is very unlikely that your computer will be able to play Call of Duty 4. Your CPU is a little bit weak, as it is only 1 core running at a fairly low speed (1.6GHz) and your fairly low RAM, which can be remedied easily, you can pick up an extra 1Gb of RAM quite easily, just remember its laptop RAM, so it’ll be called SO DIMM DDR2.
      The real problem lies in the fact that it is highly unlikely that your laptop will have a decent enough on-board graphics chip to give your computer that extra umps that is needed to play this game with your other components.

    36. eni says:

      @anton:
      Unfortunately, your computer will not be able to run CoD4 at all, let alone smoothly. However this is easily remedied you can quite easily get a nice AGP x8 Graphics Card, the best out at the moment, and is likely to be one of the last AGP x8 cards is the Saphire HD 3850. However, this cost a minimum of $135 (USD) £85 (GBP), also you will need to increase your RAM, but as DDR RAM is dirt cheap (as i have mentioned before, you can pick up 2Gb of branded DDR RAM for around $65 (USD) £40 (GBP) and i would suggest buying more RAM anyway, and you may as well get 2Gb at that kind of price). Alternatively you could be a lot cheaper graphics card, with less power but still easily enough to run the game, and go for a Saphire HD 3650, which is basically the HD 3850’s little brother, with slightly slower RAMDAC clock (graphics processor) but the same amount of on board RAM, you can get these for about $110 (USD) £70 (GBP). But when it comes down to it, I’d suggest buying the HD 3850 as you get quite a lot more for a small money increase, also i cannot suggest more getting at least another 512Mb of RAM, and if you can afford it get 2Gb and remove the old 512Mb (but keep it as DDR RAM is always useful).
      peace, eni.
      I hope i have been helpful Anton.

    39. eni says:

      @Jiggabug: As i am not sure which exact motherboard you have i cannot tell you what graphics card you should be looking at. However, you can be sure that IF your motherboard (mobo) has a PCI-E or PCI-E x2 slot, which it might not, you can pretty much be certain that a nVidia 8600GT/8800GT would be fine, and possibly if you want to go the ATi route, i suggest the ATi HD 3850 or ATi HD 4850.
      If you’re mobo doesn’t have a PCI-E/PCI-E x2 slot, then its more likely to have an older AGP slop, probably AGP x8. You can still get fairly good graphics cards for AGP slots. nVidia 7800GS cards have AGP card models, and so you should be fine if you only have AGP slots.

      @Ferd: Not problem mate, I should have told you how to do it. There is a complicated way of doing it by using a reference number that comes up when you start you computer up. But there is a much easier way of doing it, although it might not know what motherboard you have. I suggest downloading CPU-Z by CPUID, you can get it here http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php.
      When you download it, and install, just turn it on and it’ll read all the hardware your comp has, and to find out what mobo you have go into the ‘Mainboard’ tab. This will have information on it, like the Manufacturer, Model, Chipset etc… It also has information on your BIOS, which might be useful later on if you want to overclock anything.
      Alright, get back to me with whatever results CPU-Z spit out, and i’ll let you know whether you can upgrade, i hope i’ve been helpful.
      That web address again:
      http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

    47. Ferd says:

      Sorry to ask but how could I find that out?

      Cheers again mate

    48. eni says:

      @Ferd: Well, that would depend more on your motherboard. However, if you were to get an 8600GT, I’d suggest buying some more RAM as well, as its dirt cheap at the moment.
      The type of RAM you buy also depends on your motherboard, it is very important to find out how new your mobo (motherboard), if it does not support PCI-E (PCI-Express) then you will not be able to install the 8600GT, and if it doesn’t support DDR2 RAM, then you’ll have to use older DDR RAM, which is still cheap, but just isn’t as quick.
      Other than that, your comp should be fine, you have enough CPU power to play the game (and it would be good if your CPU is a Dual Core CPU, but if not its no massive loss, it just might be a little less impressive). Your RAM is a little bit low (which is why I advised buying a little more, best would be 2Gb or DDR2, but the same amount of DDR would be fine too).
      Get back to me with your Mobo (motherboard) specs, and I’ll let you know about whether you can upgrade to a 8600GT, and you’re welcome to my time, i enjoy sorting out little problems like this.
      peace, eni.

    49. Ferd says:

      Hey eni question.

      My system requirments are.
      1gb ram
      2.66 ghz
      80gb Hdd

      would installing nVidia GeForce 8600GT graphics be any problem?

      would it merge well with the rest of my comp?

      ty for your time

    50. eni says:

      @aki: Your computer probably won’t be able to run this game. There are several problems, firstly your CPU is a single Core cpu, this means that it cannot handle as much data at once (sometimes called ‘multi-tasking’), because it will be using a lot of its power to run your Operating System, add to that the running of the game, and you have a problem. Secondly, your Graphics Card isn’t powerful enough, and not just that, it also lacks certain capabilities that newer graphics cards have, and lastly you RAM, although there is enough to run the game if you had a better graphics card and CPU, if you had quite a bit more (4Gb for example) it might make enough difference for you to be able to run the game, and as RAM is pretty cheap, you could quite easily upgrade.
      A System that will run CoD4 Smoothly:
      CPU: Intel E6850 (3.0GHz)
      RAM: PNY DDR2 RAM (4Gb)
      GPU: nVidia GeForce 8600GT (430MHz Core Clock , 512Mb RAM)
      HDD: Seagate Barracuda (1Tb).
