The C300 drive outperforms every client SSD currently available on the market, which means were absolutely burying typical hard drive scores. To show you how that speed translates to the real world, we pitted our 256GB C300 SSD against a 7200rpm HDD in identical systems. We then tackled a handful of everyday tasks—boot up, file copy, and opening large files in Adobe Photoshop.

Already announced ages back, Y! 360’s closing ceremony is nearing completion and Y! is asking it’s users for actions and confirmation to shift their existing profiles on 360 to profiles.yahoo.com

A more detailed Blog post can be seen here.

People having y!360 accounts have been sent a mail quoting

Dear Yahoo! 360° customer,

We will be officially closing Yahoo! 360° on July 13, 2009, to focus our efforts on making your new profile on Yahoo! the place where you connect with the people who matter to you most. As a result, you will need to move your 360° information to your new profile before this date. After July 12, 2009, your content on Yahoo! 360° will no longer be accessible. Here are some details to guide you through this transition.

What you need to move to your new profile
Your 360° information will not be automatically transferred to your new profile on Yahoo!. To move your profile photo, nickname, and any personal status messages, you’ll need to first save or download them before July 13, 2009. Once you’ve saved this information, you can later upload it to your new profile. Be sure to head over to your new profile soon so you can make it look just the way you want.

What to do with your blog
Be sure to take your blog with you as part of this transition process. To help, we’ve built a blogging tool for you in your new profile on Yahoo!. We’ve made the move easy; it takes just one click to take your posts with you. If you’d prefer to take your blog to a different website instead, you can download an archive of your posts and transfer them to your new blog space. Click here to read more about your blogging options.

Some content will not be supported in your new profile
Please note that your new profile will not allow mature content. Also, you will not be able to take the following with you to your new profile: your 360° inbox, testimonials, friend categories, local reviews, RSS feeds, tags, or custom theme. If you want to retain any of this material, we strongly recommend that you return to your pages and download it before July 13, 2009.

Your privacy settings are retained
Your privacy is important to us. Both your new profile and your blog contents will be set to “private”. This means unless you change the setting, you will be the only one able to see your profile.

To help you through this transition, we’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions and resources here.

Tourism Queensland’s ‘Best job in the world’ viral campaign: A $150,000 job for a six-month stretch as caretaker on the Great Barrier Reef’s Hamilton Island[A World Heritage Listed natural wonder].

Responsibilities

Explore and reporting to the world on your adventures via a blog and video blogs!

Your schedule could include sampling a new luxury spa treatment at qualia on Hamilton Island, trying out new snorkelling gear on Heron Island, or bushwalking on Hinchinbrook Island.

Feed the fish
There are over 1,500 species of fish living in the Great Barrier Reef. Don’t worry – you won’t need to feed them all.

Clean the pool
The pool has an automatic filter, but if you happen to see a stray leaf floating on the surface it’s a great excuse to dive in and enjoy a few laps.

Collect the mail
You’ll have some time on your hands, so why not join the aerial postal service for a day? It’s a great opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the reef and islands.

This is a brilliant viral marketing campaign that has gained a huge amount of exposure across the globe since it’s official launch just a little over 10 days ago in 18 countries. Since then, over 2000 video applications has already been received.
The deadline is Feb 22. Apply now if interested

RIAA will stop suing people, block their net instead. The RIAA will work with major ISPs to put an end to the abusers’ net connections.
This announcement came after a controversial five-year legal campaign in which the RIAA sued over 30,000 accused file sharers. These lawsuits quickly turned into a public relations disaster as grandmothers and single mothers got dragged into court based on sometimes spurious evidence.

Under the new paradigm, RIAA will send notices to ISPs that identify the IP addresses of suspected file sharers. ISPs will then send warnings to their customers and then cut them off if the users fail to curb their illegal downloads/uploads. The suspension of the suspect from the network could last anywhere from three months to upto a year.

Twitter has reportedly turned down a $500 million acquisition offer from Facebook on 24th Nov 2008. Twitter executives believed it was worth taking a shot at creating their own revenue-generating system before giving up the company to acquisitions. And, BoomTown’s sources say that the $500 million offer, which was an all-stock form, was seen as being “inflated,” since Facebook’s actual valuation is said to be close to $5 billion.

Here’s a look at the top global outsourcing destinations as well as the emerging ones according to a recent study by Global Services

India continues to retain the number one position as the most sought-after destination for companies globally for investing and outsourcing. The country is home to as many as six of the world’s top eight outsourcing hubs viz Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune with two more.

China has no representation in the world’s top eight outsourcing cities. However, China dominates the list of emerging cities for global outsourcing with Shanghai and Beijing leading the list.

One of the names in the top 8 global outsourcing cities is that of Dublin, Ireland. In recent years Ireland has seen a large no. of outsourcing deals, both in number and size, in relation to the economy.

Mataki from Philipines also makes its place in the top 8 global outsourcing cities. Philippines has been trying to position itself as the next major global outsourcing destination, in competition with India and China. The country is aiming to get a 10 per cent share of the $130 billion global market.
