    Google acquires Jaiku

    Jaiku, the social micro blogging service, has been acquired by Google.
    Not much information on the takeover has been published yet. Jaiku has been a popular service amongst the mobile community, though it has a smaller user base of online users.
    The registration has been temporarily frozen and users can request for an invitation.

    Facebook received 15.7 billion page views in August. Since launching its application platform, Facebook attention has grown over 50%. Facebook has grown not only in member base, but also in member engagement, while MySpace has fallen dramatically on these same measures.

    Yahoo! to KickStart social networking

    Yahoo! is testing out the potential for a new campus-driven social networking site, according to a CNET blog entry. As CNET explains, users have profile pages in the resume style of LinkedIn, rather than the free-flowing multimedia profiles at MySpace and Facebook.
