WP 2.6 is out early, almost a month ahead of schedule. Version 2.6 “Tyner,” named after jazz pianist McCoy Tyner, contains a number of new features that make WordPress a more powerful CMS like tracking changes to every post and page and making it easier to post from anywhere on the web. Also, there are a dozen improvements and bugfixes compared to wp2.5

Why is it that WP doesnt have an option like “auto update” or at the least, a smaller upgrade package instead of having to upload the whole latest package and run the installation all over again ?
