The release of Sony Ericsson Xperia Play was widespread on blogs and on the Internet months before the product hit the market. Sony had even decided to roll out five PlayStation classics to the Android Marketplace even before the release of the mobile. The phone was widely known on blogs as the ‘PlayStation Phone’ as the slide out controls bore a striking resemblance to the Playstation Portable keypad.
Around 60+ games are available for the Xperia PLAY. Each game will cost you $6.38 (UK£3.99/INR 280) and can be downloaded from the Marketplace or using the Launcher (link below). The powerful Snapdragon 1GHz processor can generate 60fps playback for 3D mobile gaming. Since the device is a PlayStation Certified device, it will have access to PlayStation game content provided via the PlayStation Suite initiative – which will soon be launched by SONY this year. The current price of Xperia PLAY is Rs 30,999 in India.
